Allison Anderson, LMSW

I have a passion for working with children and families in guiding them through past trauma or current conflict to bring the family back to an equilibrium and harmonious life. I have worked as a social worker for the past 10 years and have served youth and families in the following settings: foster care, mobile crisis, residential facilities, in home family therapy, and emergency shelters. I am trained in trauma based therapies and work from a systems perspective. Therefore, I don’t just treat the client and their referring issues but look at the client from how the basic systems (individual, family, community, peers, and school) are currently affecting their current situation. I have a lot of experience working with the TN foster care system, including severe abuse and neglect cases, and partnering with DCS and CPS to ensure that every child’s needs are met.

In my free time I enjoy traveling and experiencing new things with my 3 year old daughter. I am a Christian and can use my beliefs in therapy if my client chooses healing through this similar avenue. However, I can still provide therapy from a non- religious perspective if my client chooses that as well.
